Aruna Shahi (Nepali: अरुणा शाही, born 17 November 1994, Myagdi, Nepal) is a Nepali volleyball player who serves as the captain of the Nepal women's national volleyball team.[1][2][3][4]

Career

Aruna took over as captain of the Women's National Volleyball Team in October 2019, succeeding Binita Budhathoki. Since then, Nepal has achieved historical success, winning the gold medal at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Central Zone Senior Women's Volleyball tournament held in Mirpur, Bangladesh, which was the first major international championship under her guidance. Nepal won a silver medal in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) 2019, which was held in Kathmandu, Nepal, and she made significant contributions.[5][6]

Shahi was awarded Nepal National and International Players Association (NNIPA) Award on 9 July 2024.[7]
