Aodhán King (pronounced Aiden) (born December 25, 1992, in Sydney, Australia)[1][2] is a Christian worship leader, singer, and songwriter based out of Los Angeles, California.[2][3][4] He is a founding member of the two-time Grammy nominated worship band Hillsong Young & Free.[5]
After working with other artists for several years and releasing many significantly charting singles, he released his first solo single, "Thank You So Much Jesus", on August 16, 2024.[6] It was followed by "Without You" and "Pray You Never Leave" released on September 6, 2024.[7][5] On September 27, "Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow" was released.[8] His debut studio album, Beyond Us was released on October 18, 2024. The album. was released independently and distributed through Another Records and Capitol CMG.[9][10]
Early life
Aodhan King was born in Sydney, Australia to an Indian mother and Irish father. He grew up with brothers, Niall and Brendy.
He grew up has a child loving art, drama, and was very creative. In High school King got into music with high school friends Tom Kennedy, Elliot Norris and Hunter Page-Lochard. together they formed a band called Black Ties. they wrote many songs and performed small gigs for three years until their split up. King continued on the path of pop-rock music and acoustic until joining Hillsong. He still maintains a passion for pop music and as a gospel artist creates songs with lush melodies and atmospheric accompaniment.[11]
He discovered his passion for music during high school while volunteering to sing at Hillsong’s youth ministry. He became part of Hillsong’s youth ministry in 2004 which cemented the beginning of his faith journey. Soon after becoming a Christian in 2005, King began teaching himself how to play guitar. He describes his writing as an avenue to show his worship to Jesus and his desire is that the songs he writes would speak to people who are yet to discover Him as Lord and Saviour.[12] It was there, alongside some of his closest friends, that the band Young & Free was formed in the summer of 2012.[13]
