At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of Tehran province) was 5,792 in 1,477 households.[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 6,053 in 1,877 households, by which time the county had been separated from the province in the establishment of Alborz province.[6] The most populous of its 22 villages was Ahmadabad-e Mosaddeq, with 1,603 people.[2]
