Badminton tournament
The 2017 South American Badminton Championships (Portuguese: Campeonato Sul-Americano Adulto de Badminton 2017) was a badminton tournament sanctioned by the South American Badminton Confederation and Badminton Pan America. The individual and mixed team events were held from 5 to 11 December 2017.[1]
The tournament was held at Carioca Arena 1 located at the Barra Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.[2] Five countries took part in the tournament. Suriname withdrew from the tournament.[3]
In the team event, Peru finished in first place. Chile finished in second place after defeating Argentina 5–0 and upsetting the hosts 3–2 in the group tie.[4]
