The 1989 NAIA men's basketball tournament was held in March at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. The 52nd annual NAIA basketball tournament featured 32 teams playing in a single-elimination format. In the final, St. Mary's (TX) won 61–58 against East Central to clinch the championship.[1]
