Ο Πίτερ Χάους (φλαμανδικά: Pieter Huys, Pieter ή και Peter, επίσης και Huys ή Huijs, περ. 1519 - Απρίλιος 1586[5]) ήταν Φλαμανδός ζωγράφος και σχεδιαστής[6].

Βιογραφία

Ο Πίτερ ήταν γιος του ζωγράφου και χαράκτη Άντριεν Χάους. Το 1545 αναφέρεται ως "Δάσκαλος" στη Συντεχνία του Αγίου Λουκά της Αμβέρσας και τουλάχιστον ως το 1577 φαίνεται ότι δραστηριοποιούνταν σε αυτή την πόλη. Αυτή η χρονολογία αναγράφεται στο τελευταίο χρονολογημένο του έργο, Ο Πειρασμός του Αγίου Αντωνίου που βρίσκεται σήμερα στο Μουσείο Μάγιερ φαν ντεν Μπερχ. Φιλοτέχνησε πίνακες της καθημερινής ζωής αλλά και εικόνες της Κόλασης στο ύφος του Πίτερ Μπρίγκελ του πρεσβύτερου. Σχεδίασε επίσης και αντικαθολικά κωμικά σκίτσα και δημιούργησε χαρακτικά, τα οποία εξέδωσε ο Κριστόφφελ Πλαντάιν. Επειδή ο Χάους χρονολόγησε και υπέγραψε λίγα από τα έργα του, οι αποδόσεις έργων σε αυτόν πρέπει να γίνονται με προσοχή.

Μαζί με τους Πίτερ Μπρίγκελ τον πρεσβύτερο, Γιαν Βέλλενς ντε Κοκ, Χέρρι μετ ντε Μπλες, Γιαν Μαντάιν, Γιαν Φερμπέικ και Φρανς Φερμπέικ είναι ανάμεσα στους Φλαμανδούς καλλιτέχνες που μιμήθηκαν το ύφος και το στυλ του Ιερώνυμου Μπος προσαρμόζοντάς το στο στυλ του μανιερισμού του Βορρά.
