Ο Μανώλης Θραψανιώτης (Τάπες Λασιθίου, 1949) είναι Έλληνας οδοντίατρος και πολιτικός. Εξελέγη βουλευτής Λασιθίου με το κόμμα του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ στις εκλογές του Σεπτεμβρίου του 2015.[1]

Σταδιοδρομία

Γεννήθηκε στις Τάπες Λασιθίου και σπούδασε Οδοντιατρική. Κατά τα φοιτητικά του χρόνια ανέπτυξε αντιδικτατορική δράση. Ήταν ιδρυτικό μέλος του Οδοντιατρικού συλλόγου Λασιθίου και είναι σήμερα εκπρόσωπος στην Ελληνική Οδοντιατρική Ομοσπονδία.[1] Το 1989 εντάχθηκε στο Συνασπισμό και κατήλθε υποψήφιος με το κόμμα αυτό στις εκλογές του 1989 και του 1990. Ασχολήθηκε με τα κοινά στον Δήμο Αγίου Νικολάου και υπηρέτησε ως Αντιδήμαρχος με αρμοδιότητες στον πολιτισμό, τον Αθλητισμό την Προσχολική αγωγή καθώς και ως πρόεδρος τού Πολιτιστικού Οργανισμού του Δήμου. Δύο φορές, το 2010 και το 2014 ήταν υποψήφιος Αντιπεριφερειάρχης στο ψηφοδέλτιο του υποψήφιου Περιφερειάρχη Μιχάλη Κριτσωτάκη (Ριζοσπαστική Συνεργασία Κρήτης).[2] Στις εκλογές του 2007 ήταν υποψήφιος βουλευτής με τον ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, όπως και τον Ιανουάριο του 2015, χωρίς να εκλεγεί. Έπειτα από τη διεξαγωγή των πρόωρων βουλευτικών εκλογών του Σεπτεμβρίου του 2015,[3] ο Μανώλης Θραψανιώτης έγινε ο δεύτερος εκλεγμένος βουλευτής της Αριστεράς στο Λασίθι, έπειτα από 57 χρόνια, όταν το 1958 είχε εκλεγεί με την ΕΔΑ ο Γεώργιος Παπαγεωργίου.[4]
