Μάχλι (φυλή)

Οι Μάχλι είναι προγραμματισμένη φυλή στην Ινδία, στις πολιτείες Τζαρκάντ και Δυτική Βεγγάλη.[1] Κατοικούν κυρίως στην επαρχία Ντούμκα και σε ορισμένες άλλες επαρχίας του Τζαρκάντ και τις παρακείμενες περιοχές της Δυτικής Βεγγάλης. Ο πληθυσμός τους μειώνεται και παραδοσιακά κερδίζουν τα προς το ζην πουλώντας αντικείμενα κατασκευασμένα από μπαμπού. Μερικά χαρακτηριστικά είδη που κατασκευάζουν είναι το Μάτσι (μικρός πάγκος), ομπρέλες, σόοπ (χρησιμοποιείται στην κουζίνα, για να αφαιρέσει τη σκόνη από τα δημητριακά), σοπ και τσατάι (για ξάπλωμα και ύπνο), και καπέλο βροχής (ειδικό καπέλο που καλύπτει το κεφάλι και την πλάτη για προστασία από βροχή κατά τη διάρκεια της εργασίας).

Οι Μαχλί έχουν συνήθως ένα τατουάζ με το όνομά τους στο χέρι τους.
