O Αλφόνσο (ιταλ.: Alfonso d'Este, 10 Μαρτίου 1527 - 1 Νοεμβρίου 1587) ήταν Ιταλός ευγενής.

Βιογραφία

Γεννήθηκε στη Φερράρα και ήταν νόθος γιος του Αλφόνσος Α΄ δούκα της Φερράρα, Μόντενα, Ρέτζο και της ερωμένης του Λάουρα Ντιάντι. Προερχόμενος από τον Οίκο των Έστε, ήταν μαρκήσιος του Μοντέκιο (1523-87) και ο ιδρυτής του κλάδου Έστε-Μόντενα, μια και οι απόγονοί του ήταν δούκες της Μόντενα.

Το 1523 ο πατέρας του του έδωσε την κυριότητα του Μοντέκιο (Montecchio)[1] ως φέουδου, κληρονομικού στους απογόνους του.[2] Αναγνωρίστηκε το 1533 από τον πατέρα του και έτσι νομιμοποιήθηκε.[3] Το 1569 ο Μαξιμιλιανός Β΄ των Αψβούργων-Αυστρίας τον αναβάθμισε σε μαρκήσιο.[2]

Απεβίωσε το 1587 στη Φερράρα. Το 1597 απεβίωσε ο ανιψιός του Αλφόνσο Β΄ δούκας της Φερράρα, Μόντενα, Ρέτζο και ο πάπας, ως επικυρίαρχος των φέουδων, κράτησε τη Φερράρα. Ο γιος του Αλφόνσου, ο Τσέζαρε έγινε δούκας της Μόντενα, Ρέτζο.

Οικογένεια

Νυμφεύτηκε πρώτα το 1549 τη Τζούλια ντελλα Ρόβερε, κόρη του Φραντσέσκο Μαρία Α΄ δούκα του Ουρμπίνο και είχε τέκνα:

  • Αλφόνσο 1560-1578, απεβίωσε 18 ετών.
  • Τσέζαρε 1562-1628, δούκας της Μόντενα, Ρέτζο.
  • Ελεονόρα 1561-1637, παντρεύτηκε τον Λάρλο Γκεζουάλντο ντι Βενόζα.
  • Ιππόλιτα 1565-1601, παντρεύτηκε τον Φεντερίκο Πίκο δούκα του Μιράντολα.

Το 1563 απεβίωσε η Τζούλια και ο Αλφόνσο νυμφεύτηκε τη Βιολάντε Σίγκνα· δεν απέκτησαν απογόνους.[4]

Από μια εκτός γάμου σχέση του γιος του ήταν ο:

  • Αλεσσάντρο 1568-1624, καρδινάλιος.
