Το Making Contact είναι το ενδέκατο άλμπουμ του βρετανικού χαρντ ροκ συγκροτήματος UFO, το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε τον Φεβρουάριο του 1983 μέσω της δισκογραφικής εταιρίας "Chrysalis Records".[1]

Μετά την αποχώρηση του Πιτ Γουέι, ο Πολ Τσάπμαν ανέλαβε και το μπάσο, εκτός της κιθάρας, ενώ την παραγωγή του άλμπουμ ανέλαβε ο Μικ Γκλόσοπ.[2] Κατά το ευρωπαϊκό κομμάτι της περιοδείας του άλμπουμ, το μπάσο έπαιζε ο Μπίλι Σίχαν, αλλά στην συναυλία των UFO στην Αθήνα ο Μογκ λιποθύμησε πάνω στην σκηνή, ενώ ο Σίχαν χτύπησε από αντικείμενο που πετάχτηκε από το κοινό.[3]

Το συγκρότημα έκανε ένα διάλειμμα πριν την βρετανική του περιοδεία, κατά την οποία ήταν προγραμματισμένη η ηχογράφηση ενός ζωντανού δίσκου. Ο Σίχαν αντικαταστάθηκε από τον Πολ Γκρέι των The Damned,[4] αλλά οι ηχογραφήσεις δεν κατέληξαν σε κυκλοφορία.

Το "Making Contact" υπήρξε ο πρώτος δίσκος του συγκροτήματος ο οποίος δεν κατάφερε να μπει στο Top-30 της πατρίδας τους μετά το "Lights Out" του 1977, ενώ δεν μπόρεσε να μπει στο Top-100 του Billboard.[5]
