Το Focke-Wulf Fw 58 Weihe ήταν δικινητήριο χαμηλοπτέρυγο μονοπλάνο με ανασυρόμενο σύστημα προσγείωσης. Η γερμανική Luftwaffe το ενέταξε σε υπηρεσία ως αεροσκάφος προκεχωρημένης εκπαίδευσης για πιλότους, πολυβολητές και ασυρματιστές.

Επιχειρησιακή ιστορία

Πέραν του κύριου ρόλου τους ως εκπαιδευτικών στις τάξεις της Luftwaffe, τα Fw 58 χρησιμοποιήθηκαν επίσης ως αεροσκάφη VIP, ασθενοφόρα, επιβατηγά, αναγνωριστικά και αεροσκάφη μετεωρολογικής παρατήρησης.[1] Τα Fw 58 κατασκευάστηκαν κατόπιν αδείας σε Βουλγαρία, Ουγγαρία και Βραζιλία, χρησιμοποιήθηκαν επίσης από αρκετές χώρες όπως η Ολλανδία, η Ρουμανία, το Ανεξάρτητο Κράτος της Κροατίας και η Τουρκία.

Στο Fw 58 V14 (D- OPDR) τοποθετήθηκαν flaps τύπου Fowler προκειμένου να διεξαχθούν πειράματα υψηλής άνωσης. Το σύστημα αναρρόφησης τροφοδοτούνταν από κινητήρα Hirth και ο αέρας έβγαινε από δύο περιμετρικές παράλληλες σειρές σχισμών στο πίσω τμήμα της ατράκτου.[3]
