Το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας και Βορείου Ιρλανδίας χρησιμοποιεί ως εθνική σημαία την Σημαία της Ένωσης (Union Flag ή Union Jack)[2].

Περιγραφή

Καθιερώθηκε την 1η Ιανουαρίου του 1801 και έχει παραμείνει από τότε ίδια. Αποτελείται από τους σταυρούς του Αγίου Γεωργίου (Αγγλία, κόκκινο χρώμα), Αγίου Ανδρέα (Σκωτία, χιαστί λευκός σε γαλάζιο φόντο) και τον σταυρό που αποκαλείται ο σταυρός του Αγίου Πατρικίου, της ισχυρής οικογένειας της Ιρλανδίας Τζεραλντάιν. Η σημαία κυματίζει μεσίστια όταν πεθάνει ο Μονάρχης, όταν κηδεύεται κάποιος νυν ή πρώην πρωθυπουργός του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, κάποιο μέλος της βασιλικής οικογένειας αλλά και κάποιος ξένος ηγέτης[3].
