Οικονομία της αγοράς

Η οικονομία της αγοράς είναι οικονομικό σύστημα, στο οποίο οι αποφάσεις όσον αφορά τις επενδύσεις, την παραγωγή και τη διανομή καθοδηγούνται από τα σήματα τιμών που δημιουργούν οι δυνάμεις της προσφοράς και της ζήτησης. Το κύριο χαρακτηριστικό της οικονομίας της αγοράς είναι η ύπαρξη των παραγόντων της αγοράς που παίζουν κυρίαρχο ρόλο στην κατανομή του κεφαλαίου και των συντελεστών παραγωγής.[1][2]

Οι οικονομίες της αγοράς ποικίλουν από ελαχίστως ρυθμιζόμενα συστήματα ελεύθερης αγοράς και λεσέζ-φερ, όπου η κρατική δραστηριότητα περιορίζεται στην παροχή δημόσιων αγαθών και υπηρεσιών, καθώς και στη διασφάλιση της ιδιωτικής ιδιοκτησίας.[3] Επίσης υπάρχουν παρεμβατικές μορφές της οικονομίας της αγοράς όπου η κυβέρνηση παίζει ενεργό ρόλο στην διόρθωση των αποτυχιών της αγοράς και την προώθηση της κοινωνικής ευημερίας. Οι σχεδιασμένες από το κράτος οικονομίες και οι διευθυντισμένες οικονομίες αποτελούν είδη οικονομιών όπου το κράτος έχει κατευθυντήριο ρόλο στην επίβλεψη της συνολικής ανάπτυξης της αγοράς μέσω των βιομηχανικών πολιτικών ή του ενδεικτικού σχεδιασμού.

Η οικονομία της αγοράς είναι το αντίθετο της σχεδιασμένης οικονομίας, όπου οι επενδύσεις και οι αποφάσεις περί παραγωγής ενσωματώνονται σε ολοκληρωμένα σχέδια για την οικονομία. Σε μια σχεδιασμένη οικονομία, ο οικονομικός προγραμματισμός είναι ο κύριος μηχανισμός κατανομής μεταξύ των επιχειρήσεων και όχι των αγορών. Στην σχεδιασμένη οικονομία τα μέσα παραγωγής της οικονομίας ανήκουν και λειτουργούνται από ένα ενιαίο οργανωτικό σώμα.[4]
