Xania Monet ist eine durch künstliche Intelligenz generierte Musikerin. Sie wurde von Telisha “Nikki” Jones geschaffen.[1] Der Song „How Was I Supposed to Know?“ war der erste mit KI produzierte Song, welcher in die Billboard-Radiocharts einstieg und Platz 30 der Adult R&B Airplay Charts erreichte.[2] Er platzierte sich außerdem auf Platz 20 der Hot R&B Songs Charts, während Jones’ Song Let Go, Let God Platz 3 der Hot Gospel Songs Charts erreichte.

Hintergrund

Jones stammt aus Mississippi.[3] Sie schreibt die Texte für Monet selbst und nutzt Suno zur Musikgenerierung.[1][4] Nach einem Bieterwettstreit wurde Monet für 3 Mio. Dollar von Hallwood Media (Neil Jacobson) unter Vertrag genommen.[5] Die Singer-Songwriterin Kehlani kritisierte den Vertrag und sagte, sie habe das Gefühl, Jones würde „keine Arbeit leisten“.[6]
