Thomas Ruane

Thomas Ruane (* 13. März 1918 in Ballina, County Mayo, Vereinigtes Königreich von Großbritannien und Irland; † 7. Juni 1969) war ein irischer Politiker. Er war von Dezember 1934 bis zur Auflösung im Mai 1936, von April 1938 bis September 1943, von August 1944 bis April 1948 und von August 1951 bis Juni 1965 Mitglied des Seanad Éireann, des Oberhauses des irischen Parlaments (Oireachtas).

Biografie

Ruane wurde 1934 als Mitglied der Fianna Fáil in den Seanad des irischen Freistaats gewählt. Auch nach Inkrafttreten der irischen Verfassung 1937 konnte er in den sog. 2. Seanad Éireann gelangen. Die Wahlen zum 3. Seanad (1938), 5. Seanad (1944), 7. Seanad (1951), 8. Seanad (1954), 9. Seanad (1957) und 10. Seanad über die Verwaltungsliste konnte er jeweils für sich entscheiden. Bei den Wahlen 1965 verlor er seinen Sitz.
