Standards Tag Suite

Standards Tag Suite (STS) ist eine XML-Auszeichnungssprache für die strukturierte Erfassung von Normen und verwandten Dokumenten wie Normen-Anpassungen und Nachträgen. STS wurde für die Kodierung aktueller normativer Dokumente entwickelt, wird aber auch für ältere Dokumente (z. B. historische Normen) und nicht-normative Dokumente wie Handbücher verwendet.[1]

STS basiert auf JATS 1.1 und benutzt zudem Index- und Inhaltsverzeichnisstrukturen von BITS (Book Interchange Tag Set)[1]. STS existiert in verschiedenen Versionen, namentlich

  • ISOSTS (die Variante der ISO) sowie
  • NISO STS, das gegenüber ISOSTS erweitert wurde.[2][3]

Die aktuelle Version von NISO STS trägt die Versionsnummer 1.2 und wurde im November 2022 verabschiedet.[4]

STS wird u. a. von verschiedenen nationalen Normungs-Organisationen verwendet, darunter British Standards Institution (BSI), Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS), Nederlands Normalisatie Instituut (NEN) und Standards Australia (SA).[4]
