Sherryl Jordan

Sherryl Jordan (* 8. Juni 1949 in Hawera; † 15. Dezember 2023[1]) war eine neuseeländische Autorin von Jugendliteratur.

Leben

Sherryl Jordan beschäftigte sich seit ihrer Jugend mit Mythen und historischen Welten. Ihr Lieblingsbuch als Kind war The Princess and the Goblin von George MacDonald – bevor sie die Bücher von C.S. Lewis entdeckte. Diese Bücher beeinflussten ihre Berufswahl. Sie arbeitete zunächst als Illustratorin, dann als freie Autorin. In ihren ersten fünf Jahren des Schreibens vollendete sie 27 Bilderbücher (von denen nur drei publiziert wurden) und vier Novellen.

Sie lebte in Tauranga.
