Mätropolis ist eine deutsche Pop-Rock/Kölschrock-Band.
Bandgeschichte
Mätropolis, ein Wortspiel aus dem umgangssprachlichen Ausdruck Mädel und dem Filmnamen Metropolis, übersetzt „Mutterstadt“, wurde 2022 von Sängerin Linda Teodosiu (Sängerin in Peter Maffays Liveband), Bassistin Jenny Gerdts (Produzentin und Songschreiberin bei Sony Music und Tinseltown Music), Gitarristin Jo Eicker und Schlagzeugerin Trish Ross gegründet. Die beiden letzteren wirkten bei den Rockemarieche und der Teenie-Rock-Band The Black Sheep mit.[1][2]
Die Band spielt Pop/Rock in Kölscher Mundart. Erste Veröffentlichung war das Karnevalslied Hingerm Horizont, das auf der Karneval der Stars 52-Kompilation von Pavement Records enthalten war.[2] Es folgten weitere Singles. Zu einem großen Hit entwickelte sich Rakete in der Remixversion von DJ Aaron, der in der Karnevalssaison 2025/2026 bis auf Platz 13 kam.[3][4]
