Mary Davidson
Mary Frances Davidson (* 1902; † 29. Mai 1986) war eine irische Politikerin der Irish Labour Party. Sie war von Juni 1950 bis August 1951 und von Juli 1954 bis November 1969 Mitglied im Seanad Éireann, dem Oberhaus des irischen Parlaments (Oireachtas).
Biografie
Davidson wurde bei einer Nachwahl am 16. Juni 1950 über die Industrie- und Gewerbeliste in den 6. Seanad Éireann gewählt, verlor ihren Sitz aber schon bei den Wahlen 1951. Ihr gelang es dann aber 1954, diesen Sitz im 8. Seanad zurückzugewinnen und verteidigte ihn fortan bei den Wahlen 1957, 1961 und 1965. Ab 1969 kandidierte sie nicht mehr.
1962 wurde sie als erste Frau Generalsekretärin der Irish Labour Party. Sie war damit die erste weibliche irische Generalsekretärin überhaupt.
