Kwihancha ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Tarime in der tansanischen Region Mara.

Geografie

Kwihancha ist ein ländlicher Bezirk im Norden von Tansania und gehört zur Division Ingwe.[2] Er liegt rund 90 Kilometer Luftlinie östlich der Regionshauptstadt Musoma und 40 Kilometer südöstlich der Distrikthauptstadt Tarime an der Grenze zum Serengeti-Nationalpark.[3] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 13.941 Menschen in 2525 Haushalten[4] auf einer Fläche von 88 Quadratkilometern.[5]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Osten an den Serengeti-Nationalpark und sonst an vier Bezirke des Distrikts Tarime:[6]

Gliederung

Der Bezirk besteht aus drei Gemeinden (Swahili Mtaa) mit 13 Orten (Swahili Kitongoji):[7]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Es gibt eine weiterführende Schulen im Bezirk.[8] Die Gibaso Secondary School ist eine staatliche Schule, die Jugendliche bis zur 4. Stufe ausbildet.[9]
  • Elektrizität, Wasser: Von den 4928 Gebäuden im Bezirk hat keines einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 262 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. In 61 Gebäuden gibt es einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[10]
  • Gebäudenutzung: Von den 52 Gebäuden, die nicht zu Wohnzwecken genutzt werden, sind 15 Gewerbebetriebe, 15 Geschäftslokale, 10 öffentliche Gebäude wie Schulen und Gesundheitseinrichtungen, 6 Bürogebäude, gehören 4 religiösen Gemeinschaften und je eines ist ein Hotel und ein Lagerhaus (Stand 2022).[11]
