Jack Sperling
Jack Sperling (* 17. August 1922 in Trenton (New Jersey); † 26. Februar 2004 in Los Angeles) war ein US-amerikanischer Schlagzeuger und Studiomusiker.
Leben
Sperlings Lehrer war Henry Adler in New York City. Von 1941 bis 1942 spielte er im Orchester von Bunny Berigan, 1943 bis 1945 in der Navy-Band von Tex Beneke und von 1946 bis 1949 im Glenn Miller Orchester unter der Leitung von Tex Beneke.
Von 1950 bis 1954 war er Schlagzeuger bei Les Brown und von 1954 bis 1957 Mitglied der Fernsehshow von Bob Crosby. Danach arbeitete er als Freelancer in Los Angeles und spielte nebenher im Oktett von Dave Pell, ebenso bei Tex Beneke und anderen. Sperling galt als brillanter Swing-Drummer, der als ungewöhnliches Merkmal zwei Bass-Trommeln verwendete.
