Isangel ist die Hauptstadt der Provinz Tafea des Inselstaates Vanuatu. Sie liegt an der Westküste der Insel Tanna.

Geographie

Isangel liegt auf einer Anhöhe über der Westküste, auf einem Nordwest-Ausläufer des Mount Tukosmera und ist durch Stichstraßen mit der Küstenstraße verbunden. Die nächsten Ortschaften sind Lenakel (NW) und Bethel (S). Der Ort verfügt über große Gebäude und hat 1248 Einwohner.[1]

Geschichte

Bereits von 1985 bis 1994 war der Ort die Hauptstadt der "Insel"-Provinz Taféa.
