Harold L. „Hal“ Flemings ist ein US-amerikanischer Autor und Professor, früher für Hebräisch am San Diego Community College in Kalifornien, derzeit an der Pioneer School of Insurance.[1]

Leben

Flemings wuchs in einem Arbeiterviertel von Detroit auf, das überwiegend von Menschen mexikanischer, osteuropäischer und afroamerikanischer Herkunft geprägt war.[2]

Er hat einen Abschluss in Literatur und Philosophie von der Wayne State University in Detroit und studierte klassische (Griechisch und Latein) sowie semitische Sprachen.[2] Seine Laufbahn im Bildungswesen begann im öffentlichen Schulsystem, wo er Englisch unterrichtete; später wechselte er zum Hebräischunterricht auf College-Ebene.[3] Von 1965 bis 1968 unterrichtete er Englisch an öffentlichen Schulen in Detroit. Zwischen 1993 und 2005 lehrte er Versicherungswesen und Wertpapierkunde bei A.D. Banker & Company. Von 1994 bis 2000 unterrichtete er Hebräisch am Foundation College, das die Einrichtungen des San Diego Community College nutzte. Seit 2012 ist er als Hebräischlehrer am San Diego Community College tätig. Heute unterrichtet er Versicherungswesen und Wertpapiere an der Pioneer School of Insurance.[1]

Seine akademischen und persönlichen Erfahrungen haben ihm eine breite Perspektive auf theologische und philosophische Fragen eröffnet. Er hat umfangreich zu biblischen Fragestellungen und Apologetik publiziert. Zu seinen veröffentlichten Büchern gehören A Philosophical, Scientific and Theological Defense for the Notion That a God Exists[1] und Your Word is Truth.[4][5][6]
