Die Fresh Del Monte Produce Company ist ein Lebensmittelunternehmen mit Sitz auf den Cayman Islands. Das Unternehmen ist rechtlich eigenständig von Del Monte Foods, auch wenn es historisch aus dieser entwachsen ist und weitere Verflechtungen existieren.
Geschichte
1979 wurde Del Monte Foods von RJR Nabisco übernommen. Als RJR Nabisco zehn Jahre später von KKR übernommen wurde, wurde RJR Nabisco in verschiedene Teilkonzerne aufgespalten und veräußert. Aus der Abspaltung des Geschäfts mit frischem Obst und dem Verkauf der Sparte an Polly Peck entstand 1989 Fresh Del Monte Produce. Nach der Insolvenz von Polly Peck 1991 und zwei weiteren Besitzerwechseln ist Fresh Del Monte seit 1997 an der Börse notiert. 2007 übernahm Fresh Del Monte die Del Monte Europe.[2]
