Emanuel Marx (hebräisch עמנואל מרקס; * 8. Mai 1927 in München; † 13. Februar 2022 in Ramat haScharon) war ein israelischer Ethnologe und Hochschullehrer.^[1]

Den Eltern des in München geborenen Emanuel Marx gelang im September 1939 die Flucht nach Palästina (sein Vater wurde vorher zweimal im KZ inhaftiert). Emanuel und sein Bruder waren einige Monate vorher zu Verwandten nach Manchester geschickt worden und konnten den Eltern 1940 nach Palästina folgen. Zunächst war Emanuel Marx Soldat und nahm u. a. am Arabisch-Israelischen Krieg 1948 teil. Anschließend studierte er Ethnologie an der Hebräischen Universität Jerusalem und legte dort 1958 die Magisterprüfung ab. In diesem Zusammenhang studierte er das Leben der Beduinen in der Wüste Negev und war Mitarbeiter im Büro des israelischen Ministerpräsidenten. Als Stipendiat ging er 1959 an die University of Manchester und promovierte dort 1963 zum Ph.D. Auch weiterhin betrieb er Feldforschungen bei den Beduinen auf dem Sinai sowie im Westjordanland und im Gaza-Streifen und veröffentlichte hierüber. Als Hochschullehrer lehrte er von 1964 bis zu seiner Emeritierung 1995 an der Universität Tel Aviv. In seinem letzten 2020 erschienenen Buch beschäftigte er sich mit seinen Erlebnissen im Dritten Reich.
