Donna Halper
Donna Lee Halper (* 14. Februar 1947 in Dorchester) ist eine US‑amerikanische Professorin, Historikerin und Autorin von mehreren Büchern. Ein Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeiten ist die frühe Geschichte der Funktechnik.
Leben
Geboren am Valentinstag 1947, arbeitete die junge Frau als Discjockey (DJ) im Radio. Ihr wird die Entdeckung der kanadischen Progressive-Rock-Band Rush zugeschrieben, die von 1968 bis 2018 aktiv war. Sie forscht und lehrt über die Geschichte des Hörfunks und der Mediengeschichte an der Lesley University in Boston. Zu ihren Ergebnissen hält sie Vorträge, veröffentlicht zahlreiche Fachartikel und hat mehrere Bücher verfasst.
Im Jahr 2023 erhielt sie den Pioneer Award der Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame.[1]
