Denys Alan Turner (* 5. August 1942) ist ein britischer Philosoph und Hochschullehrer.^[1]

Denys Turner studierte von 1959 bis 1965 Philosophie und Theologie am University College Dublin. 1962 erwarb er dort den Bachelor- und 1965 den Magistergrad. Von 1965 bis 1976 arbeitete er an dieser Hochschule als Tutor bzw. wissenschaftlicher Assistent für Philosophie. Zwischen 1966 und 1968 war er außerdem in Teilzeit Dozent für Politische Theorie am Institute of Public Administration in Dublin. 1975 promovierte er an der University of Oxford bei Richard M. Hare. Von 1976 bis 1995 war er Philosophiedozent an der University of Bristol. Bis 1999 lehrte er Theologie an der University of Birmingham. Von 1999 bis 2005 hatte er dann eine Professur für Theologie an der University of Cambridge inne. Im Anschluss daran lehrte er Historische Theologie an der Yale University. Neben seinen Arbeiten zur mittelalterlichen Theologie veröffentlicht Denys Turner vor allem zum Gottesbegriff in der Verbindung zwischen Theologie und Philosophie.
