Denis Liddell Ireland (* 29. Juli 1894 in Belfast; † 23. September 1974 ebenda) war ein irischer Geschäftsmann, Publizist und Politiker, u. a. der Liberal Party und der Clann na Poblachta. Er war von April 1948 bis August 1951 Mitglied des Seanad Éireann, des Oberhauses des irischen Parlaments (Oireachtas).

Ireland war Sohn des Leinenfabrikanten Adam Liddell Ireland. Er studierte Medizin an der Queen’s University Belfast. Mit dem Beginn des Ersten Weltkriegs trat er den Royal Irish Fusiliers bei und wurde an der Westfront und in Mazedonien eingesetzt. Als er als Invalide und im Rang eines Captain (entspricht dem Hauptmann) nach Hause gesendet wurde, entschied er sich dagegen, das Medizinstudium erneut aufzunehmen. Er begann stattdessen als Handelsvertreter des Familienunternehmens in London und Übersee.

Ab 1930 war er freier Mitarbeiter bei der BBC in Belfast. Von da an veröffentlichte er zahlreiche Essays. Er befasste sich mit der Verteilungsgerechtigkeit und dem Social Credit. Gleichzeitig hielt er, obwohl Protestant, an einer nationalistischen Perspektive fest. 1929 kandidierte er bei den Unterhauswahlen 1929 als liberaler Kandidat im Wahlkreis Belfast East, wurde jedoch nicht gewählt. Im April 1948 wurde Ireland als Mitglied der Clann na Poblachta von Taoiseach John A. Costello in den 6. Seanad Éireann nominiert.^[1] Während seiner Senatorenzeit war Ireland Vertreter Irlands in der Parlamentarischen Versammlung des Europarats.^[2]

Ab 1957 war Ireland mit Mary Hawthorne verheiratet.
