Der Courcelette Peak ist ein 3044 m[1] hoher Berg in der kanadischen Provinz British Columbia.
Geographie
Der Courcelette Peak liegt östlich des Fording River, genau nordöstlich von Elkford in British Columbia.[2] Der nächsthöhere Berg ist der Tornado Mountain (3090 m).[4]
Geschichte
Der Berg wurde 1916 durch die Interprovincial Boundary Survey nach Courcelette in Frankreich benannt, welches kanadische Truppen von der deutschen Armee in der Schlacht von Flers–Courcelette während des Ersten Weltkrieges zurückeroberten. Es handelte sich um die erste Konfrontation der kanadischen Armee mit dem Feind während der Schlacht an der Somme.[2]
