Cervães ist ein Ort und eine Gemeinde im Norden Portugals.

Geschichte

Eine Übertragungsurkunde aus dem Jahr 1296 belegt hier eine Quinta, das heute als Torre e Casa de Gomariz bekannte Landgut mit Befestigungsturm aus dem frühen 16. Jh.[3]

Cervães war Sitz eines mittelalterlichen Verwaltungskreises (Coito), mit den beiden Gemeinden Cervães und Areias.

Später wurde es eine Gemeinde, die zu zwei später aufgelösten Kreisen gehörte. Seit 1855 ist Cervães eine Gemeinde des Kreises Vila Verde.[4]

Cervães ist Sitz einer gleichnamigen Gemeinde (Freguesia) im Kreis (Concelho) von Vila Verde im Distrikt Braga. Die Gemeinde besitzt eine Fläche von 10,9 km² und hat 1856 Einwohner (Stand 19. April 2021)[1].

Die Gemeinde besteht nur aus der namensgebenden Ortschaft.
