Die eigene Beschreibung der Zeitschrift lautet: “BEHEMOTH – A Journal on Civilisation publishes current research articles dealing with the dissolution and/or failure of state power and the resulting consequences. The journal considers itself a platform for discussing risk and order in societies in which state institutions are in the process of losing or have already lost their integrative power. Its aim is to spotlight approaches and concepts that analyse these new, contingent and sometimes precarious regimes of (dis)order.”[1]
