Antonius Deusing

Anton Deusing (* 15. Oktober 1612 in Moers; † 30. Januar 1666 in Groningen, lateinisch Antonius Deusingius) war ein Physiker, Mathematiker und Astronom.[1][2]

Leben

Deusing wurde 1612 in Moers geboren und war ein gebildeter Arzt, der sich mit orientalischen Sprachen, Philosophie, Physik, Mathematik und Astronomie auskannte.

Zwischen 1630 und 1637 war er an der Universität Leiden immatrikuliert, wo er ein Protegé von Jacobus Golius, dem berühmten Professor für orientalische Sprachen und Mathematik, wurde.

1646 wurde er der erste Professor für Medizin an der Universität Groningen. Er schrieb und veröffentlichte mehrere Werke in lateinischer Sprache.

Er starb 1666 in Groningen.
