Alison Comyn (* 28. Oktober 1969 in Drogheda, County Louth, Irland) ist eine irische Journalistin und Politikerin der Fine Gael. Sie ist seit Februar 2025 Mitglied des Seanad Éireann, des Oberhauses des irischen Parlaments (Oireachtas).
Leben
Alison Comyn arbeitete als Journalistin und Moderatorin bei RTÉ, Sky News und Channel 4. Von 1997 bis 2000 präsentierte sie im Programm der BBC die Sendung Holiday mit diversen Urlaubsorten. Für den Drogheda Independent war sie von 2006 bis 2014 und von 2018 bis 2024 unter Vertrag. Bei UTV Ireland arbeitete sie als Nachrichtenansagerin. Sie kandidierte bei den Wahlen zum Dáil Éireann 2024 im Wahlkreis Louth, verpasste jedoch knapp den Einzug in den Dáil. Im Februar 2025 wurde Comyn vom Taoiseach Micheál Martin in den 27. Seanad nominiert.[1]
Privates
Comyn war von 2001 bis 2018 mit Malachy Murphy verheiratet und hat mit ihm zwei Kinder.
