Agetec Inc. („ASCII Game Entertainment Technology“) war ein US-amerikanischer Videospiel-Publisher, der vor allem dafür bekannt war, japanische Titel in den Vereinigten Staaten herauszubringen. Das Unternehmen entstand aus der ASCII Corporation, die 1998 ihre amerikanische Vertriebs-Tochtergesellschaft als eigenständiges Unternehmen ausgliederte; ein Jahr später wurde Agetec zu einem eigenständigen Publisher.[1][2][3]
Zu den bekanntesten von Agetec veröffentlichten Spielen zählen R-Type Delta, die Armored-Core-Reihe und die King’s-Field-Reihe sowie die „Designer-Reihe“ mit RPG Maker und Fighter Maker. Weitere Titel sind Magic Pengel und Kuri Kuri Mix, die meistverkauften Angelspiele Bass Landing und Fisherman's Bass Club sowie Disaster Report und dessen Fortsetzung Raw Danger!. Ihr letzter veröffentlichter Titel war Touch Battle Ninja für den Nintendo 3DS, der 2014 erschien. Etwa im Mai 2018 wurden alle Agetec-Titel für Nintendo-Plattformen aus dem Nintendo eShop in Nordamerika entfernt.[4] Ebenfalls etwa zu dieser Zeit wurde ihre Website zu einer „Server-Standard“-Seite. Diese Ereignisse deuten darauf hin, dass das Unternehmen stillschweigend seine Geschäftstätigkeit eingestellt hat.
