Die African Economic History ist eine 1974 begründete Fachzeitschrift, die sich der Wirtschaftsgeschichte Afrikas widmet mit den Schwerpunkten Subsahara-Afrika, Kolonialgeschichte und der post-kolonialen Entwicklung des Kontingents.[1] Veröffentlicht wird die Zeitschrift durch den Verlag University of Wisconsin Press.[1] In den Jahren 1974 und 1975 erschien die Zeitschrift als African Economic History Review, die im Rahmen der Afrikastudien an der University of Wisconsin und in Zusammenarbeit mit dem nach Harriet Tubman benannten Tubman Institute for Research on Africa & its Diasporas der York University herausgegeben wurde.[2]
