VM i mountainbike

Et øjeblik før starten af mændenes U23 cross-country finale ved VM 2009 i Canberra, Australien. Vinderen, Burry Stander, er nummer to fra venstre.

VM i mountainbike er verdensmesterskaberne i mountain bike konkurrencerne i cross country, downhill, four-cross, cross-country eliminator og trialsløb. VM i mountainbike organiseres af Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) og vinderne får en guldmedalje og får retten til at iføre sig regnbuetrøjen i et helt år efter VM i konkurrencer i samme disciplin. I modsætning til andre UCI-løb, så organiseres VM i mountainbike efter nationalitet og ikke efter kommercielle hold. Løbet afholdes normalt hen mod slutningen af sæsonen.
