Un o ynysoedd y Philipinau yw Palawan. Mae hefyd yn enw'r dalaith sydd hefyd yn cynnwys rhai o'r ynysoedd llai o'i chwmpas. Saif i'r gorllewin o ynys eraill y Philipinau. Y brifddinas yw Puerto Princesa.
Y dalaith yw'r fwyaf o ran arwynebedd ymhlith taleithiau'r Philipinau. Mae twristiaeth yn bwysig yma, gan fod yma draethau da a dwy Safle Treftadaeth y Byd, Parc Cenedlaethol afon danddaearol Puerto Princesa a Parc Môr Arrecife de Tubbataha. Siaredir nifer o ieithoedd yma, yn cynnwys Tagalog, Ilongo, Tausug, Batak, Tagbanua, Palahueño a Cuyunon. Dilynwyr Islam yw'r mwyafrif o'r boblogaeth, er bod nifer sylweddol o Gristnogion hefyd.
