Cofnod, ar ffurf dau lyfr anferth, o'r wybodaeth a gasglwyd rwng 1085 a 1086 yw Llyfr Dydd y Farn (Saesneg: Domesday Book).

Ar ôl ennill coron Lloegr yn 1066 danfonodd y Brenin Wiliam I swyddogion o amgylch y gwlad i gasglu gwybodaeth am y pentrefi, y perchenogion a nifer y pentrefwyr. Bu'r swyddogion yn ymweld â'r maenor ym mhob pentref i holi cwestiynau i'r rif, person y plwyf, a chwe gwerinwr lleol. Pwrpas yr arolwg oedd cael sylfaen ar gyfer codi trethi gan y brenin. Mae rhai lleoedd yng Nghymru, ar y ffin â Lloegr, oedd ym meddiant arglwyddi Normanaidd Y Mers yn cael eu cofnodi ynddo hefyd.

Cedwir y llawysgrif yn yr Archifau Cenedlaethol yn Kew, Llundain Fwyaf. Yn 2011, gwnaeth y wefan Open Domesday y wybodaeth yn y llawysgrif ar gael ar-lein.[1]
