Assemblea legislativa

L'Assemblea Legislativa, en alguns indrets coneguda també com a Assemblea Nacional és l'instrument polític òrgan de representació de caràcter legislatiu. Coincideix amb la cambra baixa d'una legislatura bicameral en alguns països.[1] Les seves competències varien segons el tipus de govern. Es pot posseir tots els poders, en general regit pel comitè, o pot funcionar dins de la branca legislativa del govern.

La paraula té el seu origen i inspiracions de l'Assemblea Nacional Francesa, que va ser responsable de la redacció d'una constitució durant la Revolució Francesa.
