KwaZulu-Natal (tamién llamada KZN y Zululand) ye una de les nueve provincies que formen la República de Sudáfrica. La so capital ye Pietermaritzburg y la so ciudá más poblada, Durban. Ta allugada nel estremu este del país, llindando al norte con Mpumalanga, Suazilandia y Mozambique, al este col océanu Índicu, al suroeste con Provincia Oriental del Cabu Oriental del Cabu y al oeste con Lesothu y Estáu Llibre.

Ye la de mayor población del país y ye llar de la etnia zulú.

Historia

Cuando'l bantustán de KwaZulu (que significa la tierra de los zulús) foi reincorporáu a la Provincia de Natal tres el fin del Apartheid en 1994, la provincia foi denomada KwaZulu-Natal. La provincia ye de mayoría zulú. Ye la única provincia del país que lleva'l nome del so grupu étnicu dominante.

Esisten trés distintos zones xeográfiques: la zona costera del océanu Índicu, les llanures del centru y dos árees montascoses: el Drakensberg a occidente y los montes Lebombo al norte. Durban ye una área urbana con gran crecedera, siendo la segunda mayor ciudá del país y tien el mayor puertu d'África con bonos enllaces ferroviarios al restu del país. La principal industria ye la del refináu del Azucre. Tamién tienen ganáu ovín, vacunu, lleche, cítricos, maíz, sorgu, algodón y plátanos. Les industries, alcontraes pela redolada de Durban inclúin a la industrial testil, cauchu, fertilizantes, papel, procesáu d'alimentos y refineríes de petroleu. Plantes de procesáu d'aluminiu en Richards Bay, na mariña central. Importantes xacimientos de carbón y madera. Mientres l'apartheid la población negra viose obligada a vivir en bantustanes con una economía ganadera de subsistencia.

El turismu representa un importante sector de la economía del Natal, especialmente'l turismu costeru branizu y el turismu interior cultural zulú.
