Helen Hayes (10 d'ochobre de 1900, Washington DC – 17 de marzu de 1993, Nyack) foi una actriz angloamericana.

Trayeutoria

Descendiente d'irlandeses católicos, debutó en teatru a los 5 años y formalmente a los 10.

Una de les máximes estrelles del teatru y cine norteamericanos de la so era. Ganóse'l llamatu de "Primer Dama del teatru norteamericanu", y ye una de los nueve actrices en ganar los premios Emmy, Grammy, Óscar y Tony.

Recordar en teatru como María Estuardo, Viola en Nueche de reis de Shakespeare y otres.

En 1986 foi condecorada cola Medaya Presidencial de la Llibertá y en 1988 dióse-y la Medaya de les Artes del gobiernu americanu.

Escribió tres libros de memories: A Gift of Joy, On Reflection y My Life in Three Acts.

Casada col escritor Charles MacArthur, la so única fía, Mary, morrió de poliomielitis a los 19 años. El so fíu adoptivu James MacArthur yera actor.

En 1983 estableciéronse los premios al teatru que lleven el so nome.[9]
