حاكم ولاية اركانسو هو رئيس حكومة ولاية اركانسو الامريكانيه . الحاكم هو رئيس الفرع التنفيذى لحكومة اركانسو و هو مكلف بتطبيق قوانين الولاية. عندهم سلطة اما الموافقة على مشاريع القوانين اللى أقرتها الجمعية العامة لاركانسو أو الاعتراض عليها ، وعقد الهيئة التشريعية ، ومنح العفو ، الا فى حالات الخيانة والعزل.[2] كان للولاية 46 محافظًا منتخب ، و 11 محافظًا بالنيابة تولى السلطات والواجبات بعد استقالة أو وفاة الحاكم. قبل ما تصبح ولاية ، كان اقليم اركانسو يعين 4 حكام على ايد رئيس امريكا . خدم أورفال فوبوس (1955-1967) أطول فترة حاكمة ، تم انتخابه ست مرات ليخدم لمدة 12 سنه . بيل كلينتون (1979-1981 ؛ 1983-1992) ، انتخب خمس مرات على فترتين منفصلتين ، لم يتجاوز 12 سنه ، ومايك هوكابى (1996-2007) خدم 10 سنين لفترتين كاملتين لمدة أربع سنين . كانت أقصر مدة للحاكم المنتخب هيا 38 يوم خدمها جون سيباستيان ليتل قبل انهياره العصبى . تولى واحد من خلفاء فترة عمله ، جيسى م.مارتن ، منصبه قبل 3 أيام بس من نهاية الفترة ، و هيا أقصر فترة عامة.الحاكمة دلوقتى لاركانسو هيا الجمهورية سارة هوكابى ساندرز ، اللى وصلت اليمين فى 10 يناير 2023.

اقليمى (1819–1836)

اقليم أركانساو (أعيدت تسميته باقليم اركانسو ، حوالى سنة 1822) [arabic-abajed 1] تم فصله عن اقليم ميسورى فى 4 يوليه 1819. بصفته وزير اقليم من سنة 1819 لسنة 1829 ، عمل روبرت كريتندن كحاكم بالنيابة كلما ماكانش الحاكم المعين فى الولاية. ده يعنى أن Crittenden كان أول شخص يؤدى واجبات الحاكم ، لم يوصل جيمس ميلرلالاقليم الا بعد تسعة أشهر من تعيينه.[4]

ولاية (من 1836)

تم قبول اركانسو فى الاتحاد فى 15 يونيه 1836. انفصلت الولايه فى 6 مايو 1861 ، [28] وتم قبولها فى الكونفدرالية فى 18 مايو 1861.[29] لما تم الاستيلاء على ليتل روك ، عاصمة الولاية ، فى 10 سبتمبر 1863 ، نقلت حكومة الولاية لواشينطون ، اركانسو ، و تم تنصيب حكومة اتحاد مكانها ، ده عمل تداخل فى شروط الحاكم الكونفدرالى هاريس فلاناجين و حاكم الاتحاد اسحاق ميرفى .[30] فى فترة اعادة الاعمار بعد الحرب ، كانت جزء من المنطقة العسكرية الرابعة . ات رجع انضمام اركانسو للاتحاد فى 22 يونيه 1868. نص دستور اركانسو سنة 1836 على فترات مدتها 4 سنين للحكام ، [31] اللى تم تخفيضها لسنتين فى دستور 1874 و الحالي.[32] تعديل سنة 1984 رفع فترات الحاكم ونائب الحاكم لأربع سنين .[33] كان الحكام فى الأصل مقيدين بس بخدمة ما يزيدش عن 8 من كل 12 سنه ، [31] لكن دستور 1874 أزال أى حد للولاية . حدد استفتاء سنة 1992 المحافظين بفترتين.[34] لحد سنة 1864 ، نصت الدساتير على أنه فى حالة شغور منصب الحاكم ، رئيس مجلس الشيوخ هايكون يعتبر الحاكم بالنيابة لحد ما يتم انتخاب حاكم جديد أو ازالة العجز ، أو انتهاء ولاية مجلس الشيوخ بالوكالة.[35][36] أدى ذلكلبعض المواقف اللى تم فيها تغيير الحاكم فى تتابع سريع ، بسبب انتهاء فترات مجلس الشيوخ أو انتخاب رؤساء جدد لمجلس الشيوخ. على سبيل المثال ، بعد استقالة جون سيباستيان ليتل سنة 1907 ، عمل 3 رؤساء لمجلس الشيوخ كحاكم قبل ما يتولى الحاكم المنتخب اللى بعد كده منصبه. اذا كان رئيس مجلس الشيوخ عاجز بالمثل ، اللى بعد كده فى الترتيب لمنصب الحاكم هو رئيس مجلس النواب بالولاية.

أنشأ دستور سنة 1864 منصب نائب الحاكم [37] اللى يعمل كمان رئيس لمجلس الشيوخ ، [38] اللى هايكون يعتبر الحاكم بالنيابة فى حالة الشغور.[39] حافظ دستور سنة 1868 على المنصب ده ، [40] لكن دستور 1874 أزاله وعادلخط الخلافة الأصلي.[41] تم تعديل الدستور سنة 1914 لكن لم يتم الاعتراف به لحد سنة 1925 ، أ رجع انشاء منصب نائب الحاكم ، اللى بقا حاكم فى حالة شغور منصب الحاكم. لا يتم انتخاب الحاكم ونائب الحاكم على نفس البطاقة .كانت اركانسو ولاية ديمقراطية بقوة قبل الحرب الأهلية ، كانت تنتخب بس المرشحين من الحزب الديمقراطي. انتخبت 3 حكام جمهوريين بعد اعادة الاعمار ، لكن بعد ما أ رجع الحزب الديمقراطى السيطرة ، مرت 92 سنه قبل ما يختار الناخبين جمهورى آخر.
