Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aviation/WikiEagle
I'm currently using a browser that does not always support the "hide" and "show" button and have to remove "mw-collapsed". I would prefer a link to Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/WikiEagle/Current issue which would have several benefits. Not only is that page already in an uncollapsed state (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Scrolling lists and collapsible content for more information, but it reduces the size of my talk page. Another benefit for the editor is page views. It give you a better idea of how many people are reading it rather than people who are looking at my talk page.
Other than that. Great work. - CambridgeBayWeather Thanks for the suggestion. I'll probably rework the newsletter for next month's issue, and I'll keep your suggestion in mind. - ZLEA T\C 21:20, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2022-01-01T21:20:00.000Z","author":"ZLEA","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-ZLEA-2022-01-01T21:20:00.000Z-CambridgeBayWeather-2022-01-01T20:21:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
Hi ZLEA, I'd love to help out, but I'm not really sure where to start or what to do. If possible, could you post a "Task list" of areas or items that you need specific help with, such as writing, editing, etc. One possible feature for future issues might be an interview with long-term editors, especially those who have/had jobs in the aviation/aerospace industries. I know we have several current and former pilots who are prominent editors. As to columns, a list of topics of interest might also be helpful, perhaps as "guest columnists" to start, with one featured each issue. Topics might include funny aviation stories, harrowing incidents, etc. Other areas might include advice from long-term editors on editing aviation-related articles that tend to be problematic, such as aviation accidents, pop-culture, socks, LTAs, SPAs, spam, POV warriors, etc. Another idea might be to highlight some of the lesser well-known subprojects and task forces under WPAV's purview. I'm not volunteering for any writing at this point, which isn't my stong suit, but those are areas that might be of interest to readers, especially newer editors. Regards. - BilCat Those are some great ideas. I may not be able to implement them all in the next issue, but I'll try to get them all done as soon as possible. - ZLEA T\C 02:48, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2022-01-03T02:48:00.000Z","author":"ZLEA","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-ZLEA-2022-01-03T02:48:00.000Z-BilCat-2022-01-02T04:54:00.000Z","replies":["c-BilCat-2022-01-03T03:12:00.000Z-ZLEA-2022-01-03T02:48:00.000Z"]}}-->
- No worries, they're just ideas. Take your time, and enjoy it. Hi, it says the March issue is being prepared under the Newsroom. I'd like to contribute to the April issue but can't because it says the March issue is being prepared. Urban Versis 32 (talk) 23:19, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2022-03-18T23:19:00.000Z","author":"Urban Versis 32","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Urban_Versis_32-2022-03-18T23:19:00.000Z-April_Issue","replies":["c-ZLEA-2022-03-19T02:50:00.000Z-Urban_Versis_32-2022-03-18T23:19:00.000Z"]}}-->
- Urban Versis 32 Thanks for offering. What area of the newsletter are you interested in contributing to? - ZLEA T\C 02:50, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2022-03-19T02:50:00.000Z","author":"ZLEA","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-ZLEA-2022-03-19T02:50:00.000Z-Urban_Versis_32-2022-03-18T23:19:00.000Z","replies":["c-Urban_Versis_32-2022-03-19T05:01:00.000Z-ZLEA-2022-03-19T02:50:00.000Z"]}}-->
- For now, since I haven't been involved in the newsletter until now, really anything that would help out. Maybe gathering information about articles to move, articles created or deleted, etc. Urban Versis 32 (talk) 05:01, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2022-03-19T05:01:00.000Z","author":"Urban Versis 32","type":"comment","level":3,"id":"c-Urban_Versis_32-2022-03-19T05:01:00.000Z-ZLEA-2022-03-19T02:50:00.000Z","replies":["c-ZLEA-2022-03-22T03:40:00.000Z-Urban_Versis_32-2022-03-19T05:01:00.000Z"]}}-->
- Urban Versis 32 I had already begun compiling the list of active and closed discussions. However, I have not yet begun the On the Main Page section. You can start it by adding all aviation-related TFAs, POTDs, and DYKs that appeared on the main page in March and April. No need to worry about In the news, since there is no formal archive of that. - ZLEA T\C 03:40, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2022-03-22T03:40:00.000Z","author":"ZLEA","type":"comment","level":4,"id":"c-ZLEA-2022-03-22T03:40:00.000Z-Urban_Versis_32-2022-03-19T05:01:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
Hi, Adam - I see you have done a lot of work on this page and I appreciate it. I'm the chief communicator on the Association professional staff. The sidebar summary on the AFA page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_%26_Space_Forces_Association) indicates the Association was founded in Colorado Springs, Colo. That is not correct. The Association was established and incorporated in Washington, DC, in 1946, and was headquartered there until the association relocated to Arlington, VA in the 1980s. How can I help to make that change?
