According to the description on their GitHub page, they are "reviving and improving upon different channels on the Nintendo Wii".[3][non-primary source needed]
WiiLink originally only focused on Wii no Ma, however since their merge with BetterConnect24 and RiiConnect24, they now focus on WiiConnect24 enabled channels in general, instead of just region-exclusive ones.[1][dubious – discuss]
LinkTag (formerly RiiTag) (a "gamertag" that is can embedded on a website, shared with people or sent on Discord through the WiiLink Bot, that shows which video games have been played recently.)
WiiLink was originally founded by Dogmander, Marko and Auto1lija in April 2020 as "Wii No Ma development", which they then renamed to "Rii no Ma" with only one goal, reconstructing Wii no Ma. However, in September 2020, after merging with BetterConnect24 and restructuring themselves, they became WiiLink24. Later, on May 19, 2021, they dropped the "24" from their name (which was probably a reference to WiiConnect24's name also ending in 24),[citation needed] and rebranded to simply "WiiLink", and since 2023, shortly after Larsenv stepped down as RiiConnect24's main leader, WiiLink have merged with them.[5][non-primary source needed]
