The Voyageurs Cup was a competition organized by The Voyageurs supporters' group to determine the best Canadian soccer club playing in the USL W-League between 2004 and 2006.[1] Head-to-head matches between Canadian clubs during the regular season were added to a table, where the top team were awarded the Women's Voyageurs Cup trophies. Because there was no inter-conference play in the regular season, an east and west team were both crowned at the end of each season. In 2006 however, the coincidental meeting between the east and west champion in the playoff finals allowed the Voyageurs to additionally honour a "Super Cup" champion.[2]

The award was short-lived due to the logistics involved, but it was praised for bringing attention to women's soccer in Canada when there was no dedicated league established (such as Project 8).[3]

Due to the folding of the Calgary Wildfire and Edmonton Aviators, the Voyageurs announced that the western trophy would be contested between the Vancouver Whitecaps and the London Gryphons. Because these teams played in separate divisions, the trophy would be awarded to the team with the best regular season record, as there would be no head-to-head matches between the two teams.[4]

According to the tiebreaker rules announced at the beginning of the season, the winner of any post-season match contested by the east and west champion would be considered the Voyageurs Super Cup champions. In 2006, this would occur, as the Vancouver Whitecaps Women and Ottawa Fury Women both reached the 2006 USL W-League Finals, alongside winning their respective Voyageurs Cup titles.[5]
