Village in Lower Carniola, Slovenia
Vinji Vrh pri Semiču (pronounced [ˈʋiːnji ˈʋəɾx pɾi ˈseːmitʃu] ; German : Weinberg [ 2] ) is a village in the Municipality of Semič in southeastern Slovenia . The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola . The municipality is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region .[ 3]
Name
The name of the settlement was changed from Vinji Vrh to Vinji Vrh pri Semiču in 1955.[ 4] [ 5] In the past the German name was Weinberg .[ 2]
Church
Holy Trinity Church
The local church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and belongs to the Parish of Semič. It dates to the mid-17th century.[ 6]
