Victoria is an electoral ward in the London Borough of Hackney. The ward has existed since the creation of the borough on 1 April 1965 and was first used in the 1964 elections. It returns three councillors to Hackney London Borough Council.

After voting against the party whip on a motion relating to a ceasefire to the Israel–Hamas war, the three Labour Party councillors were suspended and then resigned to form an independent group.[2][3]

2018 by-election

In October, a by-election was announced due to the resignation of Olumuyiwa Alexander Kuye following health issues. On 18 October 2018, Labour successfully defended Victoria against the Conservative candidate, who was a former Councillor for Lea Bridge during the Conservative high tide in 1968.

1978–2002 Hackney council elections

There was a revision of ward boundaries in Hackney in 1978. There was a significant change to the ward boundaries in 1994 when Victoria Park was brought fully into Tower Hamlets, however as this area was unpopulated it made no change to the electorate.[9]
