I had to make a change to your otherwise very good Great Martyrdom of Edo article; rounding the coordinates. Google has taken to providing 16-digit coordinates in what is believed to be a copyright trap scheme. That level of precision is in the 1/100th of a micrometre range. WP:OPCOORD calls for always rounding or truncating coordinates (tldr: use DD°MM'SS" or D.dddd° for everything). Also, MOS:ORDER wants the Coord template placed just above the Categories on the bottom of pages. This is because if the Coord template is at the top it causes a glitch in the rendering of the article on certain mobile phones. Hi Watkyn, I’ve got a question for you. I was noodling around and came across this article: Ernst August von Hannover (born 1954), the bad boy of former German princely families. It mentioned that he was seeking a retrial of his conviction for aggravated assault on a fellow in Kenya, but it didn’t say anything more than that. I found some sources that said the retrial was held in 2009, and added that update, but I can’t find out what happened! I’ve not found an English source with the outcome. Would you be interested in poking around to see if you can find out what happened? A source in German would work for the cite. Hope your summer is going well. @Mr Serjeant Buzfuz: I actually totally forgot about WP:CLAIM, so I am grateful to you for catching this. A lot of coincidences let to this article: Something happening in real life informed me about the existence of the statue, I searched for it on Wikipedia and found nothing. Then I saw that this statue regularly attracts a lot of interest from social media (see for example: on reddit). That got me researching, which was surprisingly hard, but I somehow got a small (and very hookable) article out of it. Quite nice that we both got DYKs with pictures within a few days from each other on the main page! All the best to you! Only the first of these three links to Institutes (Gaius) is needed. If you were linking externally to the specific passage quoted, then that would be fine (in my opinion), but not to the same article in such proximity.

But the specific policy you mentioned explicitly exempts citations/references ("Citations stand alone in their usage, so there is no problem with repeating the same link in many citations within an article"). I didn't undo the linking. I just think it's unnecessary even in the notes to provide multiple links to the same article if the notes are close together and if the section is referencing Gaius multiple times and naming him in the body, as Roman law articles are likely to. However, it could be argued that a direct link to the individual passage cited might be of help in such cases – though I don't usually do that because it seems unwise to rely too much on external links. No big deal. I've been chastised for linking a second time to the same article in the body even though the two links were so widely separated that it seemed quite justified to me on the grounds that one might read one section and not the other. So I'm just interested in the question of what's enough or too much. @Cynwolfe: I must apologize for being rash and simply assuming you undid the linking, sorry. In my opinion every footnote stands for itself: If I want to check the referenced content, I look at the specific footnote and do not take other footnotes into consideration, therefore I always default to linking everything in every footnote. Genererally, I think WP:SEAOFBLUE is sometimes taken too literal. I think your assumption that a second wlink for a seperate section was helpful for the reader was probably entirely correct.
