We are half way through the penultimate round of this year's WikiCup; there is less than a month to go before we have our final 8. Our pool leaders are Adabow (submissions) (Pool A, 189 points) and PresN (submissions) (Pool B, 165 points). The number of points required to reach the next round is not clear at this time; there are some users who still do not have any recorded points. Please remember to update your submissions' pages promptly. In addition, congratulations to PresN, who scored the first featured topic points in the competition for his work on Thatgamecompany related articles. Most points this round generally have, so far, come from good articles, with only one featured article (White-bellied Sea Eagle, from Casliber (submissions)) and two featured lists (Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story, from PresN and Grammy Award for Best Native American Music Album, from Another Believer (submissions)). Points for Did You Know and good article reviews round out the scoring. No points have been awarded for In the News, good topics or featured pictures this round, and no points for featured sounds or portals have been awarded in the entire competition. On an unrelated note, preparation will be beginning soon for next year's WikiCup- watch this space!
There is little else to be said beyond the usual. Please list anything you need reviewing on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, so others following the WikiCup can help, and please do help if you can by providing reviews for the articles listed there. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews generally at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup- points are, of course, offered for reviews at GAC. Two final notes: Firstly, please remember to state your participation in the WikiCup when nominating articles at FAC. Finally, some WikiCup-related statistics can be seen here and here. We are looking for new editors for the newsletter for future issues. If you are interested in helping shape the newsletter to focus on new areas or submit individual stories, we can use your help! The newsletter can be edited by all members of the project, and we are always seeking new volunteers. Instructions will be provided on how to develop the newsletter each month. Any interest and/or questions can be submitted on the talk page of the Outreach department or contact Nehrams2020.
Our project currently has just over 89,900 film-related articles, with only a handful of unassessed articles, thanks to the assessment department! Remember to always add the {{WikiProject Film|class=}} template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. If you believe that an article should be assessed at a certain class, feel free to follow the assessment scale and assess the article yourself (it's not too difficult to determine the basic classes such as stubs, categories, or lists). Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class.
Spotlight Update: Multiple films and film-related articles have reached GA, FL, and FA status in July 2011.
Remember that any editor can give the WikiProject Film Award to another WP:Films member. If you do present this award, please make mention of it here or tell one of the newsletter editors who will then include it in the next issue.

I have a question regarding Portal:Chandigarh. I notice that you are one of two members of WP:Wikiproject Chandigarh, although the other editor hasn't edited in about a month. I felt you might be the best person to ask, though...do you feel that Portal:Chandigarh is a useful page? I see that it was create by User:Maheshkumaryadav, a use whom I mentored and who has since been banned from Wikipedia for socking to avoid strict community sanctions. I don't generally use portals (I don't find the need for a tertiary level of navigation on Wikipedia), so I wonder if you have any opinion about that page. Do you think you or any other editors might be interested in growing and maintaining it? If not, I can nominate it for deletion, as it is already becoming a bit out of date (as some of the articles Mahesh added have since been deleted for a variety of reasons). Thanks for your help. Where have you to taken the files/image from ? It seems that you have declared that you are the copyright holder of those images and hence released them to free license (eg: File:AbdusSalam Blackpen Autograph.jpg)?
