We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. We've had some shakeups regarding late entries, flag changes and early dropouts, but the competition is now established- there will be no more flag changes or new competitors. Congratulations to Sasata (submissions), our current leader, who, at the time of writing, has more listed points than Hunter Kahn (submissions) and TonyTheTiger (submissions) (second and third place respectively) combined. A special well done also goes to Fetchcomms (submissions)- his artcle Jewel Box (St. Louis, Missouri) was the first content to score points in the competition.
Around half of competitors are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. 64 of the 149 current competitors will advance to round 2- if you currently have no points, do not worry, as over half of the current top 64 have under 50 points. Everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places in round 2! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. The Tag & Assess drive has completed another month. There are over 50,000 articles that need to be reviewed. We have already assessed over 13,400 articles! This will take a project-wide effort to complete, and it will be helpful if you complete even just one range (of course, you may like it and want to do more!). The vast majority of the Stub-class articles are available to review, and each article usually takes just a few seconds to complete. The top three reviewers so far are Big Bird (1,600), Bovineboy2008 (1,200), and Peppage/Pjoef (800). With many ranges still available, you can still compete for the top awards. Instructions can be found on the drive's page.
As the 50th anniversary of Psycho will occur on June 16, a collaboration has started to improve the article to FA so that it can be included on the main page in time for the anniversary. A to do list and an assortment of sources are available. Consider helping out in one area of the list to help the article reach the front page by its milestone.
Our project currently has over 63,000 film-related articles, with 60,800 that have been assessed by our assessment department! Remember to always add the {{Film|class=}} template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class. Many of our unassessed articles have been reviewed thanks to participation in the Tag & Assess drive.
Based on views, the top five most popular articles from our project this month were: Avatar (2009 film) (for the second month in a row, and with over 5.1 million views), The Book of Eli, List of highest-grossing films, Paranormal Activity (film), and 2010 in film. For a list of our project's top 1,000 most popular articles, see here. Consider helping to improve one of these articles that is seen by thousands to millions of people each month.
Lists that details awards, nominations, and honors films receive have been renamed from "List of awards and nominations for film" to "List of accolades for film". Please use this title when it is necessary to split off accolades from the main film article into a separate list.
Erik has compiled several recent changes links that can be used for watching film articles. The links can be searched by future release dates, task forces, and class assessments. The links can be helpful for joining in on discussions or reverting vandalism.
Remember that any editor can give the WikiProject Films Award to another WP:Films member. If you do present this award, please make mention of it here or tell one of the newsletter editors who will then include it in the next issue.

Hi, i have been looking for an Indian wiki admin for a while (i am still not good with getting around wikipedia). I was wondering if you could look into this really messy situation.

Basically, there are 4 users who are bent on painting a positive picture of an organization involved in mass killings. They question the neutrality and reliability of each and every minor thing that is critical of RSS, from Encyclopedia Britannica to Amnesty international. I have already had a really lengthy but futile discussion with these people and unfortunately I have also been involved in an editing war with these guys. Before i started editing, the criticism section was about one paragraph long and was followed by heavy rebuttal of the content and the critics. I would appreciate any help in fixing this article. Thanks.

It's only a month into the New Year, and we've already made changes to the project's infrastructure, merging and improving several task forces (see below). Much content within the project's scope has also been improved: eleven new featured articles, two featured lists, two featured pictures, a featured sound, and seventeen A-class articles. Thanks and congratulations to all editors who contributed and/or nominated these items.
In other news, the elections for new project coordinators are coming up in March. Think about whether you would like to run or not, and self-nominations will be coming up at the beginning of next month.
Lastly, our project's A-class review process is desperately in need of new reviewers. Please consider looking at least one and leaving comments, no matter how small or trivial. It will be greatly appreciated by the article's nominator(s).

The Contest Department has completed its thirty-third month of competition; and its fifth month under the new scoring system. A total of 91 articles were entered by ten editors. Sturmvogel 66 came first with 152 points, followed by Kumioko with 98 points. They receive the Chevrons and Writer's Barnstar respectively. Honorable mentions go to Auntieruth55 (87), Abraham, B.S. (48), Parsecboy (41), and Ian Rose (41). Binksternet, Radeksz, Ed! and D2306 also fielded entries. Please submit any articles you are working on for the February contest.

What would you do about this article?? WP:NOTDIR, WP:OWNERSHIP, WP:COI, self-assessed- High-importance? B-class with the only ref. Fallingrain? All edits except those of the owner are quickly reverted from a variable IP address. Probably costs a few rupees to have ones phone number listed on the Wikidirecto..., sorry, Wikipedia article.

Hello! Can you please review my article? I have been working on this article for past couple of months. This is one of my first few articles in wikipedia.
